Hurry Home Hounds is very excited to announce that we are partnering up with WoofTrax for their 5th annual Shoes for Shelters & Rescues shoe drive! What a better time for spring cleaning that shoe closet out? We are collecting gently worn footwear for developing countries. The more shoes we collect, the more money Wooftrax donates to HHH. Any gently worn shoes–flip flops, dress shoes, running shoes, etc–will be accepted for our drive! Anything with the exception of roller blades, ice skates, and slippers are accepted! All donations should have some life in them still and free of holes and stains.
Children’s shoes are also accepted! Those shoes your children and grandchildren have outgrown are perfect! Our goal is to collect at least 2500 pairs of shoes before May 15th and we will be collecting at all meet and greets.
How it works: HHH will earn funds based on the number of pairs collected as Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the donated goods. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used or new shoes at any HHH meet and greet. All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise partners in developing nations. Funds2Orgs helps impoverished people start, maintain and grow businesses in countries such as Haiti, Honduras and other nations in Central America and Africa. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send to her son to law school.
